Frequently Asked Questions

I've been in an accident. What do I do now?

It may not look like much but simple repairs to vehicles today can cost hundreds of dollars. It's best to submit a claim with MPI and have our authorized team of technicians do a complete inspection of your vehicle. There may be hidden damage that is not visible to your estimator and thus not included in your claim. We'll ensure that all repairs related to the accident are completed under the claim.

When can I bring my vehicle in?

We order the required parts from the claim sheets provided by MPI. Once we have the majority of the parts for your vehicle, one of our staff will contact you with an appointment date to bring your vehicle in. We always strive to get your vehicle in as soon as possible.

What hours are you open?

Eastside Collision Repairs office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. Closed Saturday and Sunday, however you can drop your vehicle or claim off using our key drop box located on the east side of the building.

How long will my vehicle be in the shop for?

The number of days we require to repair your vehicle depends upon the number of hours calculated on the claim. We will advise you of a projected completion date, however, once we do an analysis of the damage, we may require additional days, time and parts to complete the repairs. We communicate with MPI throughout the repair process to ensure that all damage related to the claim are repaired in a timely fashion and to the highest quality level.

Do I get a loaner vehicle to drive while mine is being fixed?

Yes. We provide a loaner vehicle to any customer that has MPI repairs being done on their vehicle. The courtesy vehicle comes with a $500.00 deductible. If you'd like to lower the deductible to a lower amount, the rental company offers this for a nominal feel. As well, if you are a corporate customer with fleet vehicles, we offer a like size vehicle to you while your repairs are being done. This way you can continue on your busy day eliminating any downtime to the company.

My windshield is chipped or broken. What do I do?

Did you know that MPI will cover the cost of a stone chip repair provided you carry a minimum of a $300.00 deductible? Simply call us for an appointment and we'll do the chip repairs for you while you wait. If your windshield is damaged beyond repair, we offer a courtesy vehicle to you while we replace your windshield.

Do you do oil changes and mechanical work?

We offer a full service mechanical division for all mechanical work required to your vehicle. This ensures that we are in control of the repairs on your vehicle from start to finish without having to send out any of the repairs. As well, if there are any additional repairs you'd like done to your vehicle while in the shop, we offer oil changes, brake repairs and replacements, tire repairs and replacements and most other standard mechanical repairs. Please let our staff know that you would like mechanical repairs done.

Do I pay you a deductible when my vehicle is done?

There are a number of different deductible options available from MPIC. Depending upon the type of loss, you may or may not be responsible for paying any deductible amounts. Please check with your estimator while at MPIC. There is also a term called Betterment. Betterment is the amount that you are responsible to pay for any parts that may be deemed as used. MPIC calculates a depreciated amount for the part and will pay accordingly. Any betterment charges under $50.00 are usually covered by your claim.

Can I fix something else on my vehicle while my MPI claim is in the shop?

Yes, when you drop off your claim we can give you a free estimate on any other repairs and or mechanical repairs that you wish to have taken care of while your vehicle is in the shop.

I have hail damage on my vehicle, what is PDR?

PDR (Paintless Dent Repair) is a new form of repairs offered that don't employ typical repair techniques. There is no body work or paint involved. Our technicians massage the dent out of the respective panel from the inside out. PDR is generally used for newer vehicles that don't require a lot of bodywork or paint. With PDR there is no replacement of body panels, no filler or bodywork and no paint. You get to keep the factory finish on your car.

Is it ok to wash my vehicle?

Yes but we recommend only washing your vehicle with a hand held wand held at least 18" away from the vehicle, as well avoid sun drying your vehicle for the first 30 days as impurities in the water may permanently leave watermarks on your new finish. Don't wax or polish your vehicle within the first 90 days to allow the finish to expel the balance of curing solvents. Don't park under power lines or trees as these areas tend to attract birds. Bird droppings are highly acidic and can damage the finish on your vehicle. Tree sap will also mar or damage the finish.

Do you use after-market or OEM (original equipment manufacturers) parts for my vehicle?

Vehicles that are current model year and under 20,000 kms are generally entitled to original equipment parts. All other part replacements are subject to your Insurance Companies rules and guidelines.

Do you provide a warranty on your repairs?

Yes, a full warranty package will be provided to you when you pick up your vehicle.
